- ➤ Following the 2025 cross country season, Texas A&M's men's team earned the USTFCCCA All-Academic honor with a team GPA of 3.0, and four women plus one man met the 3.25 GPA and top-25 finish criteria to receive individual distinctions. - ➤ Bryan city council directed public works to contact TxDOT about replacing the Texas Avenue median with traffic signals at the intersection of Brookside Drive and Garden Acres Boulevard, and public works director Jayson Barfknecht said TxDOT is coordinating with a contractor although no installation date is set (proposal from 2017). - ➤ Brazos County commissioners held a workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 27 to review changes to the economic development tax abatement policy recommended by the county’s coordinator, Kimberly Gonzalez. Final action will come on Feb. 24, and proposals include tightening eligible improvements definitions and adding an application expiration clause. WTAW

- ➤ Texas A&M Athletics said the football team set its 2026 spring ball schedule yesterday, and the Aggies will start practice on March 20. WTAW
- ➤ The Aggies lost 85-58 to No. 10 Oklahoma on Thursday at the Lloyd Noble Center. Lauren Ware led with 15 points as Oklahoma surged with a 9-0 run and built a 46-27 lead by halftime. WTAW
