GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bryan City Council approved an additional $181,000 in repairs for Travis Field stadium at its Feb. 10 meeting to build on earlier improvements. The contract requires that work—like power washing and deck renovations—be finished by April 12. WTAW
- ➤ Yesterday, Brazos County commissioner Fred Brown appeared on The Infomaniacs to discuss budgets, expansions and health services, while Texas A and M approved a $36 million poultry science center project that will replace the 40 year old facility on Harvey Mitchell Parkway with a modern complex now in design phase. WTAW
- ➤ Bryan's new parks and recreation director Mike Riggens appeared on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs on Thursday, Feb. 19 to discuss plans for upgrading parks, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and pickleball courts (and Travis Park renovations) to benefit the community. WTAW

- ➤ Bryan/College Station realtor Sarah Norman was named 2025 Texas Realtor of the Year at a recent state winter meeting (she will celebrate 50 years in the industry in 2027). WTAW
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Texas A&M head coach Mike A&M Elko provided an offseason update on training and strategy improvements. The update outlined plans that will help the program aim for a strong season. The Eagle
- ➤ Texas A&M swimming and diving teams advanced 11 competitors to finals at SEC Championships on Wednesday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee campus. Three Aggie swimmers, including senior Kaitlyn Owens, competed in championship finals, each finishing eighth in their event. WTAW
- ➤ After opening the Classic Thursday against top-20 foes Oregon and Duke, Texas A&M softball will play UC San Diego today at 10:30 p.m. at Big League Dreams. The Aggies will face Nebraska and LMU Saturday and host UCLA Sunday. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M track and field is set to finish its indoor regular season on the road today and tomorrow with meets at Notre Dame, Fayetteville and Iowa City as athletes aim to break school records and secure a ticket for the Indoor National Championships. WTAW
- ➤ Vanessa Borovilos—Texas A&M sophomore—was named SEC Golfer of the Week after winning the Moon Golf Invitational by four shots—scoring 7-under 209—on Wednesday; her win boosted the Aggies to the No. 4 team ranking and she will compete at the GameAbove Invitational in Rolling Hills Estates on March 9–10. - ➤ Texas A&M men's basketball outscored Ole Miss by 12-2 in the final four minutes inside Reed Arena on Wednesday evening to secure an 80-77 win. The Aggies, who trailed early in the second half, will travel to Oklahoma on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. for their next matchup. WTAW
