  • Taste of Aggieland, hosted by the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce and BVRA, will occur at the Brazos County Expo on Thursday, Feb. 26 — offering local food enthusiasts a chance to sample diverse flavors and celebrate community.  The Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Blinn College District will host Preview Day events this spring to introduce high school students to Texas higher education options (including campus tours and program overviews).  The Eagle
  • Texas A&M’s Association of Former Students will see a leadership change when Porter Garner retires on Dec. 31 and board-selected Nicholas Taunton becomes President and CEO effective Jan. 1 (the announcement was made Feb. 21 at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center).  WTAW
  • Texas A&M extended its tuition freeze through 2026-27 and will expand the Aggie Assurance Program in fall to include families with incomes up to $100,000 (saving over $61 million since 2022) to help keep college affordable.  My Aggie Nation
  • Porter Garner announced his retirement effective Dec. 31 after 27 years as president and CEO of The Association, and the board named Nicholas Taunton as his successor with Taunton set to assume leadership on Jan. 1, 2027 (confirmed at a Feb. 21 meeting).  WTAW

  • Texas A&M men's basketball beat Oklahoma 75-71 Saturday at the Lloyd Noble Center in a tight contest; the Aggies will play Arkansas (8 p.m.) Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M football will host its annual Maroon & White Game on April 18 at 1 p.m. CT at Kyle Field—the free intrasquad scrimmage gives fans a preview of the team under head coach Mike Elko, with more details on activities and parking coming soon.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M women's tennis defeated the Texas Longhorns 4-3 in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown at the Mitchell Tennis Center on Sunday & extended their home win streak to 76 with their ninth win in 12 meetings.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M women's basketball won 78-57 over Arkansas on senior day Sunday at Reed Arena, marking its third straight win, and the team will host its final home game against Mississippi State Thursday at 7 p.m.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M track & field set two records in the distance medley relay Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational, with men’s and women’s teams finishing at national marks. The team will start its postseason campaign Feb. 26 — 28 at the R.A. Murray Fasken 38 Indoor Track & Field facility.  WTAW
