  • The 60-year-old family-owned Readfield Meats and Deli in Bryan is drawing interest from buyers as the co-owners plan to retire. Interested buyers must submit a letter of intent by March 10 and the store temporarily ran out of Italian sausage, prompting Roland to recreate the family recipe.  WTAW

  • Caroline Gleaton retired after a 47-year career (her final day was Feb. 28) keeping Texas A&M’s cotton market database updated—a key tool for AgriLife Extension economists. She moved back to Brownwood to be near her family.  WTAW

  • Caroline Gleaton, the longtime data collector for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, retired Feb. 28 after 47 years of service. She left behind a major cotton market database & now will move to Brownwood to be near family.  WTAW

  • Texas A&M track and field athlete Peter Narumbe (a freshman phenom) won the men’s 800m title on Saturday at the R.A. Murray Fasken 38 Indoor Track facility. His win marked the Aggies’ ninth indoor gold in 11 meets as the team finished with a 10-medal haul.  WTAW
  • Blake Harris defended his heptathlon title Friday at the RA Murray Fasken Indoor Track, scoring 5,969 points to become the first repeat champion since 2022. Other Texas A&M athletes set personal bests and school records while both teams tied for second overall with 28 points.  WTAW
  • On Friday, Texas A&M women's tennis beat Vanderbilt 5-2 at the Currey Tennis Center, boosting the team to a 10-2 record. Longtime agriculture data collector Caroline Gleaton retired after 47 years, and her extensive cotton market database will now be managed by John Robinson.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M’s No. 15 softball team ran-ruled Kennesaw State 11-2 in six innings and Saint Mary’s 12-1 in five innings Saturday at Davis Diamond; Mya Perez led with two home runs as the team posted 23 runs on 22 hits to improve its record to 14-7.  WTAW
