  • The Bryan/College Station Chamber is recruiting 200 volunteers to survey 1,000 local businesses on March 26 at the Brazos Center on Briarcrest Drive. Team captains may pick up packets on March 25 from 1+ to 5 p.m., with volunteers joining a networking event at Allen Honda afterward.  WTAW

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Candy 95 earned a national Crystal Award Tuesday morning, March 3, in Washington (DC) for year-round community service, becoming one of ten winners chosen from 50 finalists. Vice president Ben Downs accepted the honor, marking the station’s fifth national recognition.  WTAW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Texas A&M system dedicated a new 53,000 sqft STEM Education and Research Center at RELLIS campus in west Bryan today, joining students from five regional universities with researchers and industry partners. The facility is designed to boost hands-on learning and workforce readiness — reinforcing Texas’ commitment to innovation.  WTAW

HEALTH NEWS

  • HealthPoint Medical Services announced Dr. Terri Sabella is leaving after five years to take a new role in Washington, and interim CEO Mary Wauters will manage operations at Bryan clinics and other locations. The board expressed confidence in her leadership to maintain quality care.  WTAW

SPORTS NEWS

  • No. 22 Texas A&M returned to Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park on Tuesday at 4 p.m. for the first game of its five-game homestand, marking the 10th meeting with UIW as the Aggies led the series 8-1 after a strong weekend showing.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M women’s basketball earned USBWA Team of the Week honors after a five-game win streak with key wins over Mississippi State and Ole Miss. The Aggies will play Auburn today (5 p.m. at Bon Secours Wellness Arena).  WTAW
  • Texas A&M's Ny’Ceara Pryor was named to the All-SEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team Tuesday after leading the SEC with 54 steals at 3.5 per game; she averages 15.9 points, 7.2 assists, and will start today at 5 p.m. in the SEC Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M’s Vanessa Borovilos and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio were named to the Spring ANNIKA Award Watch List Monday. The athletes will compete at Augusta National Women’s Amateur April 1 to 4 and host the Mo’ Morial Invitational April 6 to 8 in Bryan.  WTAW
