ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Bryan council and Brazos County Commission approved an economic development deal with German-based Messer to build a liquid air separation plant in northeast Bryan. The $60M facility will produce liquid nitrogen and oxygen with 50% property tax abatements over five years starting in 2028. WTAW
- ➤ Bryan city council approved a deal with Messer — a German firm — to build a liquid air separation unit east of the freeway near Tabor Road. The plant will get a 50% tax break for five years and requires payroll minimums before production may start in summer. WTAW
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bryan ISD school board discussed undisclosed issues with its intruder detection system during a private meeting on March 23; board member Tim Pavlas later explained the safety committee's corrective action plan (led by assistant security director Rich Himmel). WTAW
