  • The Aggie Murph Challenge to benefit veterans invites local residents to test their strength by running a mile, completing 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats + finishing with another mile to support veterans.  The Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryan ISD board members spent more than one hour at their March 24 meeting discussing state tests and finances—criticizing lawmakers for allegedly using a false narrative to shift funds toward private schools. They warned that if additional funding is not secured by June, every school building in the district will be affected.  WTAW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryan city leaders talked on The Infomaniacs on March 27 about Brad Stafford getting a TCMA Lifetime Achievement Award and plans for Travis Field and park improvements while state rep Paul Dyson discussed fees and committee work. In other news, a Bryan man accepted a plea for repeat DWI convictions—while the school board gave a safety update after an on-campus threat and a man from Hamilton pleaded guilty in drug cases.  WTAW
  • Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez spoke with WTAW’s Scott DeLucia on The Infomaniacs where he discussed Bryan ISD's CTE programs, repairs to Texas Avenue medians and proposed water and energy legislation. Parks, Recreation and Facilities Director Brad Stafford talked with DeLucia yesterday about receiving the TCMA 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award, the future of Travis Field, city parks updates and plans for new accessible playgrounds.  WTAW

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday night at Davis Diamond, the No. 5 Texas A&M softball team defeated North Texas 12-4 in a six-inning run-rule game. The Aggies turned a tied first inning into a big fourth inning — pitcher Grace Sparks earned her sixth win as they extended their edge over North Texas.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M Aggies Bryce Miller (Seattle Mariners), A.J. Minter (New York Mets) and Michael Wacha (Kansas City Royals) were named to MLB Opening Day rosters for the 2025 season, which started Thursday. Miller will start Saturday against the Athletics and Wacha is set to begin Sunday against the Guardians while Minter begins his first season with the Mets.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M’s 200 medley relay team earned Honorable Mention All-America honors at the Men’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday night at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center — the team, including Thomas Shomper, Travis Gulledge, Connor Foote and Ben Scholl, finished 13th with a time of 1:23.25 that marked the second-fastest relay in program history.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M Track and Field is competing this weekend with 60 athletes heading to the Battle on the Bayou in Louisiana and 11 athletes going to the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina (March 28-29). The team won several events in San Antonio and has many members ranked in the top ten nationally (showing a strong season).  WTAW
