- ➤ College Station police arrested 21-year-old Greg Ruben for allegedly strangling his ex-girlfriend three times in 2024 — evidence came from photos, video and victim statements — and Bryan police arrested 31-year-old Randall Espinoza Jr. on March 31 for causing nearly $4,500 in home damage, with his jail phone confession leading to a $15,000 bond release. - ➤ A 21-year-old San Antonio man named Greg Ruben posted a $200,000 bond after College Station police arrested him for strangling his former girlfriend three times in 2024, plus a Bryan man named Randall Espinoza Jr. admitted causing nearly $4,500 in home damage on February 15th as video and recorded calls led to his arrest on March 31 and he posted a $15,000 bond. - ➤ On April 1, Brazos County commissioners received a report from Alan Day, general manager of the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District, which detailed water management activities and stressed the need for landowners to register their wells (over 7,300 in total) to secure protection. He added that water prices may rise and supplies could be capped, and a water rights lawsuit by Texas A&M is set to begin trial on April 30 (in Brazos County district court). WTAW
- ➤ At a meeting held yesterday, the Bryan/College Station metropolitan planning organization shared ideas to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety near Texas A&M as Debbie Albert from the transportation institute presented plans to enhance crossings at several intersections funded by the Texas department of transportation. The MPO approved a study that will begin this October and last one year—aiming to separate pedestrians from vehicles at key spots—while exploring at least $183 million in construction funds. WTAW
