EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Blinn College trustees froze tuition and fee rates for the fall semester after a unanimous vote at Tuesday’s meeting and maintained current rates for student housing, food services and all additional fees. Trustees will review rates for the rest of the academic year after the current legislative session—this decision comes after a recommendation by executive vice chancellor Leighton Schubert. WTAW

- ➤ A Bryan fire station across Texas Avenue from Davila middle school will remain closed indefinitely after mold was discovered last month. City manager Kean Register said the station’s heating and air conditioning system will be replaced — its medical unit and engine crew have been moved to stations one downtown and five on West Villa Maria. - ➤ Texas A&M softball freshman KK Dement was named SEC Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday after she hit two home runs and a grand slam in three games last week. This honor marks her first weekly award and the Aggies' fifth SEC weekly recognition this season. WTAW
- ➤ Tuesday night, the Texas A&M baseball team won its third straight game by ending play early under the run rule to beat Sam Houston 14 to 1 in seven innings at Don Sanders Stadium in Huntsville. Wyatt Henseler & Caden Sorrell each had three hits to fuel the win. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M women’s golf team won by 38 shots Tuesday at Traditions Club as Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio earned her second win—breaking the long-held record—while the team notched its first win of the season. Coach Chadwell said the team faced challenges, and they will compete in the SEC Championships in Belleair from April 14 to 18. WTAW
