- ➤ State Representative Trey Wharton discussed school vouchers, insurance issues, and Operation Safe Shield on WTAW after his week on the floor. Texas A&M’s OPAS Performance Series announced its 53rd season featuring Broadway musicals, concerts and theatrical events beginning September 11 with season tickets available from June 2. WTAW

- ➤ The consultant hired by Brazos County commissioners to plan a loop highway east of Bryan and College Station is holding a public meeting on May 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Legends Events Center—community members can view the updated study area and proposed routes as no formal presentation is planned. - ➤ Wellborn Water District general manager Campbell Young said the board will hold an interactive town hall meeting today from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Wellborn community center to update customers on expansion plans that include a new wellfield, pump station, storage tanks and a 30-inch transmission pipeline to double production capacity. - ➤ Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez discussed Plug and Play projects, wastewater improvements, and new development in Downtown Bryan and Midtown Park during his interview with WTAW's Scott DeLucia on April 23. He said the conversation focused on plans to upgrade city services and spur growth. WTAW

- ➤ On Thursday, Texas A&M Track and Field athletes Debora Cherono and Victor Kibiego swept the 3,000m steeplechase at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, with Cherono breaking her school record by finishing under 10 minutes and Kibiego winning the men's race.
