- ➤ Bryan police arrested a passenger in a vehicle on Thursday and charged him with possessing between 1 and 4 grams of a penalty group 1 drug — tampering with evidence. The Eagle
- ➤ On Friday, May 9 before noon, an 18 foot box trailer that was double locked was stolen from the parking lot at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in College Station — police said the theft is under investigation. The TAAF Summer Games will be held from July 31 to August 3 in Bryan, College Station, and Texas A and M University — the event will feature sports from archery to track and field with local residents invited to register as competitors or volunteer helpers. - ➤ Texas A&M softball, the No. 2 seed, run-ruled the No. 7 seed South Carolina—winning 12–4 in five innings—to move into the SEC Tournament semifinals. At the Texas A&M RELLIS campus, a new Animal Reproductive Biotechnology Center opened May 6 to boost livestock research, and officials will break ground on the $25.3 million TEEX Public Service Training Complex on May 13—set to include police and motorcycle training spaces and classrooms. McDonough has been chosen to lead Texas A&M University-Washington, DC and the Bush School DC after serving as the Commandant of Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy (a decorated Marine Corps colonel).
