- ➤ Bryan police arrested former Dollar General assistant manager Delia Serna on June 4 for illegally marking down merchandise that led to an estimated $7,000 loss during a three-week period last April and released her on a $5,000 bond on June 5—while Lloyd Freeman, a repeat offender, was arrested on June 4 for burglary and now remains on $36,000 bail. - ➤ Texas 4-H Roundup closed its week at Texas A&M on Thursday with contests, a trade show, and an awards assembly. - ➤ At a June 4 meeting, Bryan city council considered a proposal to remove sections of the Texas Avenue median at seven spots. Public Works Director Jayson Barfknecht said he is working with a consultant to ensure that removing the median—especially at the intersection of Brookside and Garden Acres—does not hurt traffic as TxDOT prepares new landscaping work on the medians. - ➤ Texas A&M Transportation Institute celebrated its 75th anniversary Thursday afternoon at the RELLIS campus—over 200 guests heard top officials highlight the institute’s work in making travel safer by improving roads and safety features.
