CRIME NEWS

  • A Bryan man was arrested Monday for continual family violence.  The Eagle
  • Bryan Police responded at about 3 a.m. on June 24 to a disturbance between the city golf course and St. Joseph hospital and arrested 19-year-old Jayden Gutierrez after he held a knife and staged a standoff on a home's roof, while they also detained 35-year-old Reshawn Spight for driving with an invalid license and making an illegal U-turn+ Gutierrez remains in jail on an $11,000 bond and Spight was released on a $3,000 bond.  WTAW

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Bryan set a record by collecting $4.5 million in hotel revenue during May — the highest monthly earnings ever recorded — and local officials expect the strong performance to boost business as the busy season approaches.  The Eagle

EDUCATION NEWS

  • College Station ISD is asking for input on proposed campus boundary changes for its elementary, intermediate and middle schools. The district’s website hosts the first survey, which runs from June 23 to July 7 + board members will review the results before a final decision is made for the 2026‑27 school year.  WTAW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The College Station City Council will hold a workshop tomorrow at its regular meeting to discuss the Wolf Pen Creek Park Master Plan and possible upgrades to the park amphitheater — officials will seek ways to improve community use.  The Eagle
  • Local governments and the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District reached a settlement that leaves Georgetown with only half the water it had hoped for—highlighting ongoing disagreements over water rights in the area.  The Eagle

SPORTS NEWS

  • Texas A&M track & field athletes Antonie Nortje and Carlie Weiser were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team Tuesday, the athletics department said. Nortje earned First Team All-America honors in the 400m and helped win the SEC Indoor Championship relay while Weiser posted top finishes in the shot put and discus events as she pursues her degree.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M Athletics announced new ticket prices for the 2025-26 men’s basketball season—tickets will be given out digitally to reduce lost or fake passes. The renewal period for current season ticket holders starts on July 1.  WTAW
