CRIME NEWS
- ➤ College Station police arrested 24-year-old Amber Daniel for burglary and child endangerment after finding her children in a running car, and Bryan officers charged 27-year-old Dequanduz Blue with vehicle burglary when a victim’s laptop was found, while a Bryan man was sentenced to 40 years for drug charges after a high speed chase. Separately, Bryan and College Station councils approved a settlement that will cut water exports by half over 14 years and require the exporting company to pay more than $180 million to cover local well drilling costs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brazos County Commission approved an $18 million, 10-year technology contract for the sheriff’s and constable offices on June 24, while Bryan and College Station councils along with the Brazos Valley groundwater conservation district approved a settlement that cuts water export limits from 100,000 to 50,000 acre feet per year over 14 years. The settlement also requires the water exporter to pay over $180 million in fees over 30 years to cover local well costs, and the Brazos County Commission and the Texas A&M board of regents have not yet acted on this agreement.
