- ➤ On July 9, 2025, six hunters flew aboard a Bell 212 helicopter from Coulter Airfield in Bryan for an aerial hog hunt with HeliBacon using machine guns—despite few hogs being seen. The regulated hunt provided safety instructions and a brief water-target practice that offered a bucket list experience for some participants. The Eagle
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ College Station police say 24-year-old Logan Young—now in Brazos County jail for a parole violation and facing four trials—is accused of stealing 50 items of personal information from 31 victims after a car search following a February chase; in another case, repeated domestic violence between 22-year-old Teleah Biggs and 27-year-old Joe Williams has led to new assault and protection order violation charges with Williams held on a $7,000 bond and Biggs released on a $4,000 bond; and Bryan police arrested 45-year-old Fredrick Joshua of Calvert for trespassing and illegal possession of bullet-resistant body armor after a fire caused smoke damage in a nearby unit, with no injuries reported. - ➤ 22-year-old Johnny Villalobos-Vasquez, arrested for six attempted sexual assaults in and around the Northgate district, is now accused of assaulting an intoxicated woman who thought he was her Uber driver after Chilifest last April—police from Bryan, Texas A&M and College Station are investigating while he remains jailed on bonds up to $800,000. - ➤ At a city council meeting, city manager Kean Register informed residents that Bryan's capital projects are advancing and South College will open within the next two weeks. In other news, a Navasota man was arrested for possessing documents with personal data on 31 victims, College Station police responded to repeated domestic violence incidents between Teleah Biggs and Joe Williams, and Bryan police detained Fredrick Joshua for criminal trespassing after a fire caused smoke damage at Canyon Village apartments—Joshua remains jailed. - ➤ College Station mayor John Nichols said at the June 26 meeting that the undeveloped area of the former landfill on Rock Prairie Road is being considered as a site for a new public works complex—permission has been granted to conduct soil tests by the Brazos Valley solid waste management agency. Design work for rebuilding the road currently calls for three lanes with shared use paths and a separated bike lane that may be expanded to four lanes after a traffic study. WTAW
