- ➤ United Way of the Brazos Valley named Lizett Hawkins as its new President & CEO effective August 4th; she brings over 25 years of nonprofit and local fundraising experience from positions at the 12th Man Foundation, Hospice Brazos Valley & St. Mary’s Catholic Center. - ➤ The Bryan ISD school board unanimously approved updates to its student code of conduct at Monday (August 4) meeting to reflect new state laws that limit out-of-school suspensions to three days and set tougher penalties for a first-time possession of an electronic cigarette. The revised code also bans students from using phones (and other devices) during the school day with escalating consequences for repeated violations. WTAW
