- ➤ Bryan police arrested 40-year-old Wincent Bracy Jr.—a California man with multiple felony convictions—on August 8 after stopping a rental vehicle in a neighborhood plagued by drug sales and discovering one pound of marijuana, nearly $5,000 in cash, and a handgun; he was released from Brazos County jail after posting $26,000 in bonds. - ➤ College Station ISD board members, administrators and three parents discussed a new state law affecting public school libraries during a special meeting; the board will act on Senate Bill 13 on August 19—requiring parental notice for book checkouts and a 30-day waiting period before accepting new materials— to adjust library operations.
