CRIME NEWS

  • Bryan police said 56-year-old Stacey Ridenhour admitted starting a fire by setting bags on the second floor of a rented home at the corner of Beck and Sims on August 13 — no injuries were reported and she was released on a 12,000 bond.  WTAW
  • Bryan police, DPS and Robertson County sheriff’s office arrested two men—one aged 19 from Bryan and the other aged 17 from Ft. Smith, Arkansas—for allegedly harboring four runaways from Arkansas and Oklahoma at an apartment complex and placed the children in Brazos County juvenile center.  WTAW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Friday, Bryan and College Station ISDs learned their accountability ratings for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years when the state released the grades — College Station earned a B while Bryan got a C.  The Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryan City Council got its third yearly report on the city-owned Legends Events Center, which has served 635,000 visitors, hosted 79 special events, 279 meetings and parties, nearly 10,000 sports practices, and over 850 games since it opened in December. The center made about $30 million for the economy and over $631,000 in taxes, and Mayor Bobby Gutierrez said he may add courts—if revenue supports it.  WTAW
