CRIME NEWS

  • A Bryan man was arrested Sunday after he pointed a gun at a household member during an argument and was charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon—officials said.  The Eagle
  • A College Station man was arrested Saturday in Bryan when police found him intoxicated and in possession of PCP.  The Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Texas A&M officials have reviewed traffic patterns and will change flow before and after home football games. Transportation Institute expert Debbie Albert said drivers should use new dual right turns, updated signals and follow parking advice — allowing extra time during gameday.  WTAW
  • The Bryan ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Monday night to schedule a $397 million bond election for November — the measure was approved without dissent — and the election will appear on the ballot — allowing voters to decide its future.  The Eagle

SPORTS NEWS

  • Texas A&M women's tennis head coach Mark Weaver announced the 2025 fall schedule with nine tournaments and the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The Aggies will start at the ITA All-American Championship in Cary from Sept. 20-28 and end with the NCAA Championships in Orlando from Nov. 18-23.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M volleyball announced Monday that Jeff Fiorenza was promoted to general manager, a decision highlighted by head coach Jamie Morrison to recognize his key contributions while he remains an assistant coach. Fiorenza will lead the team in an exhibition match against Baylor on Wednesday at 6 p.m.—expanding his role as the Aggies continue to evolve.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed, a redshirt sophomore who led SEC quarterbacks with 4.7 yards per carry in 2024, was named to the Manning Award Preseason Watch List by the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Thursday—he posted strong passing and rushing numbers that ranked him among 16 QBs nationally. Finalists will be selected before the postseason and the winner will be announced after the College Football Playoff National Championship.  WTAW
  • On Sunday evening, Texas A&M soccer beat Lamar 1-0 at Ellis Field when Trinity Buchanan scored an 87th minute goal. The match saw two red cards and a strong defense from the Aggies—who will face Texas State at 7:30 p.m. next.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M student-athletes earned a combined $51.4 million in NIL deals from July 1 to June 30, with men taking the larger share and women receiving less. Experts say new rules from the House v. NCAA settlement—designed to cap payments—may lower future totals.  My Aggie Nation
