Theresa Mangapora is stepping down from her role at Brazos Valley Food Bank after 21 years of service that transformed it into a regional resource for thousands.
The organization will soon announce plans for new leadership.
🏛️ Government
The City of Bryan has launched a new Parks & Recreation mobile app that allows residents to register for programs, reserve facilities, and manage memberships using their existing account from the parks website.
The app is available for iPhone and Android.
🏈 Sports
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was named to the Davey O’Brien Award preseason watch list on Thursday, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced.
The team captain for the 2026 season has added this honor to his record of strong passing and rushing in past games (his fourth preseason accolade).
Texas A&M Athletics announced Wednesday that Loia Valade will join the Aggie football team immediately after reclassifying.
The Boca Raton native, noted for his strong performance at McCallie School in Chattanooga, will now compete with the Aggies.
Texas A&M's soccer team lost 3-2 to Texas State at Bobcat Soccer Complex Wednesday evening.
Trinity Buchanan scored within 40 seconds and Ireland Churchill earned her first career goal before Texas State pulled ahead in the final 12 minutes; the Aggies will host Sam Houston Saturday at Ellis Field.
Texas A&M announced that four Aggie football players earned preseason coaches All-SEC Team honors, with Mario Craver earning first team honors as a wide receiver and all-purpose athlete.
They will lead the team as they prepare to open the season at Kyle Field on Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
