A 19-year-old Bryan man, Juan Arredondo III, returned to Brazos County jail on August 13 to serve six months for threatening to fire a gun at a pep rally and marking his sixth jail stay since March 2023, while a Navasota man was sentenced on August 22 to ten years for evading arrest and drug charges after 8074 dollars in cash was seized. Bryan firefighters controlled an early-morning fire at Polaris Fun Center on August 27 with one firefighter injured and the city delayed action on closing the unsafe Canyon Village apartment complex until October 27.
