- ➤ The Brazos County Farmers Market is moving from Downtown to Midtown Park and will meet every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting Saturday, September 6—vendor Christopher Jagge said the new spot will allow up to 50 vendors—offering a larger space for fresh local produce and handcrafted goods. - ➤ FUJIFILM Biotechnologies announced Samuel Hernandez, Ph.D. as the new senior vice president and site head to run a 770 employee operation in advanced therapies and cell culture in Bryan—he will also manage Texas site strategy, operations, and talent development while former site head Keita Hirabayashi became senior director at the corporate office. Brazos County Acting Judge Kyle Kacal spoke on WTAW on September 4 about lower property tax revenue, planned road construction and new subdivision regulations — steps expected to influence county operations. - ➤ The Bryan City Council approved over $16 million in contracts to drill four wells near Lake Bryan during its August meeting. Public Works Director Jayson Barfknecht said the wells must be ready in three years and the council also approved up to $580,000 for additional groundwater rights—ensuring a secure water supply for the city.
