- ➤ Today, Brazos County Farmers Market moves from downtown Bryan to Midtown Park between Villa Maria and the new movie-bowl-grille complex. Vendor Christopher Jagge said the market will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. — with plans to host up to 50 vendors regularly. WTAW
- ➤ Two brothers Raleigh and Bobby Jenkins and their partners will finish a 5,500-mile charity bike ride as they arrive at Kyle Field today—where they will serve as coin toss captains at the Aggies game against Utah State. They started the ride on June 19 in Anchorage and have raised $400,000 for their causes, with Bobby riding for the Moss Pieratt Foundation and Raleigh riding for Mission Lazarus. The Eagle

- ➤ A Bryan man was booked for criminal trespass—his charge was raised to include drug possession after police discovered one gram of methamphetamine on his person. The Eagle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ College Station City Council will consider a proposal on September 11 to sell up to 200 acres of city-owned land for a datacenter—land priced at $150,000 per acre that could total up to $30 million in value. Priority Power will plan a building on the site if enough power is available. WTAW
- ➤ Brazos County commissioners approved extending a contract with consultants on August 26 to update subdivision regulations outside city limits and spent $166,800 to complete corrections noted in October 2024—state restrictions on city control have led to more homes being built. WTAW
- ➤ Commissioners held a workshop on September 3 to review plans to add a fourth floor to the Brazos County office building and a third floor to the parking garage planned across Texas Avenue—where a skywalk will connect the complex to the courthouse. The discussion also looked at repurposing the courthouse and adult probation building by moving the district attorney’s office and the 472nd district court ahead of the vote on September 9. WTAW
