- ➤ Today, Texas A&M President Mark Welsh issued a statement committing the university to sustainable environmental practices—he designated an administrator to lead these efforts. The school also announced 12 Distinguished Alumni, including Bryan natives M. Scott Taylor, Bill Youngkin, Stephen Vincent and James Wilson Jr., who will be honored this October and join a select group recognized since 1962. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M President Mark A. Welsh III named Christina Robertson to the university’s Sustainability and Environmental Management Committee on Friday—she will work to advise on environmental policy and programs. Robertson, who has served as assistant vice president of Environmental Health and Safety since 2007, earned a bachelor’s in chemistry and a master’s in industrial hygiene. My Aggie Nation

- ➤ The Texas A&M Aggies lost 2-1 to No. 4 TCU on Sunday at Garvey Rosental Soccer Stadium when AJ Hennessey scored a late header—Aggie goalkeeper Sydney Fuller made key saves while TCU outshot the Aggies in shots and corners. The result added to the Aggies' challenging season. WTAW
- ➤ The No.7 Aggies women’s golf team is playing at the Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club from Sept. 8 to Sept. 10—head coach Gerrod Chadwell leads a lineup including Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio and Vanessa Borovilos, who finished first and second last week, as the team aims to win the season’s first two tournaments for the first time ever.
