CULTURE NEWS

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Blinn College will induct six new members into its Hall of Honor on Oct. 3, marking the upcoming ceremony that recognizes their achievements. The Eagle
- ➤ College Station ISD board of trustees approved a new boundary plan for the district's elementary schools Tuesday night—this vote adjusts student attendance zones—and the changes will affect school assignments in the upcoming school year. The Eagle
- ➤ Texas A&M reported fall enrollment after five class days exceeding 81,000; that is more than 2,200 above last fall’s total. The College Station campus had over 74,000 students—with nearly 2,000 more than last fall—and saw a roughly 10% increase in masters students as the share of women grew beyond 47%. WTAW

- ➤ Dr. Jennifer Dierksen, an Aggie from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in Bryan, was hired as Brazos County’s first Director of Forensic Services and will begin work in February 2026 — the new medical examiner’s office is set for substantial completion in June. WTAW
- ➤ Brazos County Commissioners unanimously approved a new meeting schedule—effective October 14th—that replaces weekly meetings with twice-monthly sessions to allow more time for staff preparation and public workshops. WTAW
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week after his breakout performance in the Aggies’ 41-40 win over Notre Dame. He set career highs with 207 yards on seven catches and became the eighth Aggie to record a 200-yard receiving game — a feat that boosts his leading 443 receiving yards this season. WTAW
