EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryan and College Station school districts plan to display donated Ten Commandments posters in classrooms to comply with Senate Bill 10 — donors provided the posters.  The Eagle

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • College Station ISD will host its first school board candidates forum where those running for three at-large seats will answer questions from community leaders. College Station city council ended a ten-year contract with a Bryan company for mowing and landscaping services and awarded a $1 million contract to a Dallas firm after a lower bid.  WTAW

SPORTS NEWS

  • Texas A and M punter Tyler White was named to 'Ray’s 8' for Week 7 by the Augusta Sports Council and the Ray Guy Award committee on Monday after he punted four times against Florida with an average of 48.8 yards — his performance included three punts over 50 yards. This marks his second consecutive honor and third weekly recognition this season.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M’s Dayon Hayes was named SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week on Monday after a strong performance that helped the Aggies secure a 34 to 17 win over Florida—he recorded a key fourth-quarter strip sack and fumble recovery. The team will play the Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Fayetteville.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M tennis player Mia Kupres advanced to the NCAA Singles Championship when she won her ITA Texas Regional semifinal match at the Friedman Center by beating TCU's Raquel Caballero Chica 6—0, 7—5. The singles final is set for today at 10 a.m.—Kupres will face Darya Schwartzman of Rice.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M’s No. 9 volleyball team swept Mississippi State 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Newell-Grissom Building to secure its 13th win of the season. The team earned head coach Jamie Morrison’s 50th win — a milestone — as Logan Lednicky reached the program’s top 10 in career kills with 15.  WTAW
