- ➤ New high-voltage transmission lines will be built at the RELLIS campus to meet extra power needs for a planned data center and semiconductor facility. Todd McDaniel, the City of Bryan's senior advisor for economic development and real estate, said the Public Utility Commission approved a new 345kVA line that will expand electric capacity for Bryan and the surrounding area. - ➤ Bryan ISD board approved replacing door handles with door levers at four elementary schools using funds from a 2020 bond issue during their October 6 meeting. Construction director Bobby Griffin said the project cost $156,000 — $14,000 under budget — to comply with ADA guidelines. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M professors have turned their Friday barbecue class into a vibrant learning experience—students and teaching assistants build strong bonds while cooking and sharing life lessons together. - ➤ The Texas A&M men’s basketball team will hold an open scrimmage at Reed Arena on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.—fans can enter at 5:30 p.m. and park for free in the 100 lots around the arena. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M’s Alex Frusina will play in the semifinal round in the ITA Texas Regional at the Mitchell Tennis Center today—he earned his place with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Baylor’s Ioan Alexandru Chirita. He will face Texas’ Sebastian Eriksson at 10:30 a.m. with the winner set to advance to the NCAA Men's Singles Championship in Orlando from Nov. 18-23. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M volleyball’s Logan Lednicky was named SEC Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week—while teammate Maddie Waak earned SEC Setter of the Week honors after wins over Oklahoma and Arkansas. Lednicky tied her record with 22 kills and Waak led in assists as the Aggies prepare to face LSU on Friday at 7 p.m. in Baton Rouge. WTAW
- ➤ The Aggies played No. 8 South Carolina to a 0-0 draw at Stone Stadium on Sunday evening during their final regular season road trip — the result left them tied with Auburn for the final SEC Tournament spot. The team will host Kentucky next Sunday while Auburn takes on Missouri. WTAW
- ➤ The No. 10 Texas A&M volleyball team swept Arkansas in a three-set match on Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena as Logan Lednicky tied her record with 22 kills and a .606 hitting percentage. The win brought the Aggies' SEC record to 7-1 while Arkansas dropped to 1-8. WTAW
