- ➤ Bryan Police announced road closures in downtown for this weekend’s events, with the Songwriter Festival closing WJB from Sims to 24th Street and Bryan Ave from 26th to 24th from 2 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday and a Saturday closure on WJB from 24th to Tabor Ave plus Main Street from 26th to 24th from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., while North Main Street between William J. Bryan Pkwy and 23rd St will close Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.—drivers should use alternate routes. WTAW

- ➤ Texas A&M Athletics announced that SEC sack leader Cashius Howell was added to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list. The senior defensive end has 7.5 sacks this season—he will play in a 6:30 p.m. game against LSU on Saturday. WTAW
