- ➤ Former Texas A&M football player Chris Larkin, who is battling ALS, is hosting a fundraiser event today on campus—beginning with a 5K at 8:30 a.m., a community walk at 12:30 p.m., and an Ice Bucket Challenge at 1 p.m. that aims to break a world record and boost donations for ALS research. - ➤ The No. 25 Texas A&M women’s swimming and diving team beat the Houston Cougars on Thursday at the CRWC Natatorium on the UH campus with a final score of 166—133. Junior transfer Ava Whitaker won three events while senior Kaitlyn Owens won two events to secure wins in 11 of 16 races. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M football legend Von Miller was named to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame 2026 induction class as announced by Texas A&M Athletics—his career achievements include a record sack season in 2009, the 2010 Dick Butkus Award, and two Super Bowl wins. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M cross country team finished sixth in both the men’s and women’s races at the SEC Championships held Friday morning at Cherokee Farm Cross Country Course—Jack Johnston placed 20th on the men’s side while Joyce Kemboi and Debora Cherono finished 16th and 17th; three athletes earned All-SEC Third Team honors and the team will travel to Fayetteville in two weeks for the regional meet. - ➤ Texas A&M baseball finalized its 2026 non-conference slate on Thursday and will begin the season with an eight-game homestand at Blue Bell Park, starting with a three-game series against Tennessee Tech from Feb. 13 to 15—additional matchups include midweek contests and a trip to Arlington for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series before conference play begins.
