GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brazos County commissioners scheduled a special meeting Thursday morning to consider extra funding for the Brazos Valley Food Bank after SNAP benefits were suspended—Acting County Judge Kyle Kacal proposed a $25,000 boost and met with mayors of Bryan and College Station after attending a food bank meeting Monday organized by United Way of the Brazos Valley. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Texas A&M volleyball’s Ifenna Cos-Okpalla was named SEC Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week on Monday following wins against No. 2 Texas and No. 16 Tennessee, and she posted career highs in blocks and kills. She will play against Auburn Friday at 6 p.m. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M will play South Carolina at Kyle Field on Nov. 15 with kickoff set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC—They will try to win their sixth straight home game and improve on a 9 to 2 record against the Gamecocks. WTAW
- ➤ Texas A&M equestrian team defeated Fresno State 13-5 Saturday morning at Hildebrand Equine Complex. The Aggies will host No. 1 Georgia Saturday, November 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Center. WTAW
- ➤ The Texas A&M volleyball team won its seventh straight match on Sunday when it beat Tennessee 3-1 at the Food City Center — Ifenna Cos-Okpalla tied her record with 13 blocks to boost the win. WTAW
