COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Bryan/College Station Salvation Army reported that its Red Kettle campaign is behind goal with $30,000 collected of the $200,000 target. Volunteers are needed to ring bells through December 24 to help collect donations for food assistance and Angel Tree gifts (due by December 13 for 2,200 children).  WTAW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Neal Elementary welcomed Mochi (10-month-old yellow Labrador retriever) as a comfort dog to support students and staff; she arrived Thursday.  The Eagle

SPORTS NEWS

  • Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko announced 25 student-athletes signed financial aid agreements to join the gridiron program — players from 10 states are set to enroll in January 2026.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M Athletics announced that four Aggies (Trey Zuhn III, KC Concepcion, Marcel Reed, and Mario Craver) are semifinalists for the 2025 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, which honors top offensive Texas players. The playoff-bound team averages 454.4 total yards per game and learns its CFP seeding on Dec. 7.  WTAW
  • Texas A&M women’s basketball beat Georgia Tech 72-63 on Wednesday at Reed Arena in a game where three players recorded double-doubles and five scored in double digits. The Aggies will play West Virginia on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at Reed Arena.  WTAW
