- ➤ Texas A&M University College of Medicine will host its annual white coat ceremony Saturday afternoon at Rudder Auditorium from 3—5:30 p.m. The event will unveil its new name, the Texas A&M University Naresh K Vashisht College of Medicine, in honor of a record gift that will fund scholarships, research and innovation. - ➤ Brazos County commissioners delayed a developer’s incomplete plat application on July 29 after a public comment called for complete documents—then unanimously approved the completed request on August 5. WTAW
- ➤ Bryan police arrested two people for stealing a purse and two for selling drugs from a hotel room after video evidence showed the theft at a Dollar General store. The city hired REV Entertainment — the operating company of the Texas Rangers — to study Travis Major Field during a six-month feasibility study that will guide future decisions for sports and event tourism.
